Inspiring a new generation of film makers

Made in Me was approached by Into Film, a charity dedicated to championing film and film-making in schools, to create an app that would introduce younger children to the storytelling possibilities of using film and video in the classroom. Remarkably the project was also going to be able to benefit from material from the Gruffalo Animated Short.

Remixing a classic

Developed in partnership with Magic Light Pictures the makers of the animated Gruffalo and Stick Man short films, the app features key scenes from The Gruffalo film. The app allows children to re-edit key scenes, record their own dialogue and add music from a range of options. For example simply changing the music from happy to sad has a dramatic effect on the overall tone and it was lots of fun seeing how well children responded to that.

Made in Me worked with Into Film to develop the concept, managing the product design and development process from start to finish.
